Chances for Thanksgiving snow expected

As Thanksgiving weekend nears, the threat of winter weather and snow are in the forecast.

Forecaster with the National Weather Service Jared Leighton says there is a storm coming tomorrow night.

"On Tuesday into Tuesday evening we might see a little bit of snow.  The bulk snow is going to go well north of Maryville toward Omaha/Sioux Falls area.  Maryville is going to find itself on the very fringe of this event.  So we're talking pretty negligible snow amounts, probably less than an inch."

Leighton adds there is a chance of more snow on Thanksgiving.

"Going forward into the end of the week, we have a more formidable chance for some accumulating snow basically Thanksgiving Day.  Right now we're too far out to have a good handle on it.  But your better chance for maybe some impactible accumulating snow would be better on that Thanksgiving Day period as opposed to Tuesday evening."
